摘要

We present a new method for creatingconditions conducive to axonal growth ininjured optic nerves of adult rabbits. Thesurgical approach consists of making a cavity inthe adult rabbit optic nerve, into which a piece ofnitrocellulose soaked with conditioned mediumoriginating from regenerating fish optic nervesis implanted. In addition, daily irradiation (10days, 5 min, 35 mW) with low energy He-Nelaser is carried out. Such a combined treatmentmay open a door to neurobiologists andclinicians, hoping to unravel the enigma ofmammalian CNS regeneration.
